Today was our third Minga day. Back on the bus at 8am, and back into the mountains to Luz's House. Again, met with smiles as we trudge through the entry and kitchen like an army of construction warriors! Our Heart-n-Soul group really have made a great team. It is with a humble and grateful heart that I am so proud to be part of this wonderful group that has been amassed to help out a very needy family in Quito, Ecuador.
I have done manual labor many times in my life, but nothing that compares to this. many times during these very busy days, I have felt very tired and sore, but I keep pushing myself as has every member of our team to keep after it as it is truly a labor of love in the memory of my oh so sweet departed niece, Amber. I have thought about her every day for the past twenty years. I where she is and I know what we are doing for Luz's family is making her smile. We really have 9 souls in our Minga group, because I she is right beside each one of us. I know she is with us because I felt her spirit with me when were in the boat on the lake!
I just want to thank Sarah Ruth Honza for presenting me with this opportunity. I don't think this is something I would have ever considered on my own. It has been very physically demanding, yet also very rewarding to know we are doing the Lord's work together!
